How we're funded

amandla .mobi is working not only to be a people driven movement, but people funded as well. To ensure our independence, and accountability to our members, we are working hard to ensure each year we are increasingly funded by our members, not big donors. Our plan is to be majority funded by every day people in Mzansi by 2020. Whether it’s a R5 airtime donation, or a R1000 monthly donation. The amandla .mobi community holds leaders in corporations, the media, government and public institutions to account, therefore we do not accept funding from companies, any of our government departments, political parties or other institutions, so that we are free and independent to challenge power.

In addition to small donations from members, to help get amandla .mobi up and running, we researched and applied for grants from values aligned organisations.
